GCSE and BTEC Success 2022!
GCSE Results Day: Thursday 25th August 2022.
Students from Sir Thomas Wharton Academy are celebrating after receiving their GCSE outcomes. The Academy has achieved its best results ever. Students and parents filled the academy with positivity when collecting their results.
There were several highlights for the academy, where large numbers of students achieved excellent grades. This set of results saw students make positive progress across a range of subjects. We are particularly proud to celebrate notably successful outcomes in PE, Art, History, English and ICT.
We are proud to have many individual standout students' success stories, a few to mention are; Harrison Unwin securing seven grade 9's, one grade 8 and a grade 7 and Maddison Cook securing five grade 9's, two grade 8's, 2 grade 7's and a grade 6.
Harrison said, “I worked hard and am very happy with my results.”
His mother commented, “We are so proud, it’s amazing. Thank you so much to the school and the teachers for all their support”. We wish Harrison well as he starts his A levels at MLT Post 16 studying Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Finally, Holly Mears commented, “Thank you @STWAcademy for all the support u have given to us all. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here. ” We wish her well as she continues her highly successful goalkeeping career at Leicester City U18 Womens Football Club.
Matthew McDonald, Principal at Sir Thomas Wharton said, ‘Well done to these young people. Their results are a true reflection of their hard work and resilience. We are immensely proud of everyone involved. I have been overwhelmed by the hard work and determination that all have shown to achieve positive outcomes. We are confident they will all go on to lead successful and fulfilling lives, with students remaining in further studies at our Maltby Learning Trust Post-16, apprenticeships, and exciting work opportunities. The results give further evidence of the academy’s improvement journey and these record results, alongside our 'Good' Ofsted judgement signify a positive shift and I am delighted for everyone involved.’
